International council for competitiveness improvement of the leading Russian universities

About the Council

The Council for competitiveness improvement of the leading universities of the Russian Federation among the world's leading research and education centers was set up in accordance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation from March 16, 2013 № 211

The Council performs the following functions:

a) Considers the list of requirements for the selection of universities entitled to receive state support in order to increase their competitiveness among the world's leading research and education centers (hereinafter - state support), which is approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation;

б) Considers the programs of competitiveness improvement among the world's leading research and education centers (hereinafter - the program to improve competitiveness) of the universities included in the list by the committee;

c) Recommends the list of universities entitled to receive the state support (hereinafter- winning universities) to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and advises on amounts of subsidies to be provided to winning universities;

d) Recommends international university rankings to winning universities for evaluation of the efficiency of measures taken in implementations of the roadmaps

e) Evaluates the road maps of winning universities to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation;

f) Considers reports of the winning universities on implementation of the roadmaps;

g) Based on annual reports advises on continuation of subsidizing of winning universities to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Council members

The Members of the Council for competitiveness improvement of the leading universities of Russian Federation among the world's leading research and education centers were determined in accordance with the decree of  the Government of the Russian Federation from April 6, 2013 № 529-r.

The council consists of 12 members: 6 Russian and 6 international.
